📍 St. Anne’s De Pere
For nine years now, St. Anne’s has offered Ashes To Go on Ash Wednesday. You can drive up to the east side of St. Anne’s Church and receive ashes right from your car. It is available both in the morning and late afternoon/evening.
This continues to be a wonderful outreach into the community. A prayer is said at each car, and everyone in the car receives ashes. We also give each car literature about the Episcopal Church and St. Anne’s.
This year was especially well-received. We saw 18 cars in the morning and 77 in the evening—for a total of 95 for the day, beating all prior years.
A big thank you to those at St. Anne’s who supported this important ministry. If we are going to grow the Church, we have to be known in the community.

🚤Lakeshore Mission Clergy Gathering at St. Thomas of Canterbury, Greendale
📍 St. Thomas of Canterbury, Greendale
Clergy from across the Lakeshore Mission gathered this week at St. Thomas of Canterbury in Greendale for a morning of prayer, learning, and conversation.
Mother Melisa graciously welcomed the group and offered a thoughtful tour of the church, sharing its history and the stories embedded in the building’s architecture and worship life. It was a gift to see how faithfulness has taken shape in that space over the years — from stone and stained glass to the quieter, lived traditions of the parish community.
Following the tour, clergy gathered for Morning Prayer, grounding the day in shared liturgy and common voice. There is something steadying about praying the Daily Office together — familiar words spoken in a new place, weaving our ministries into one another.
Over lunch, the conversation continued with round-table discussions on ministry, challenges, and hopes for the season ahead. These gatherings offer space not only for practical collaboration, but also for encouragement — a reminder that none of us serves alone.
Many thanks to St. Thomas of Canterbury for their hospitality and to Mother Melisa for hosting a meaningful and grace-filled morning.

🕯️ 99 Years Young!
📍 Christ Church in Delavan
We don’t often include birthdays in the diocesan newsletter—but sometimes a life so interwoven with the Church is also a story worth telling.
On February 22, Christ Church in Delavan celebrated the 99th birthday of their oldest member, Shirley (Gifford) Abell. Mother Liz Meade offered a special birthday blessing during the service, and the celebration continued into fellowship hour with cupcakes, chocolate-covered strawberries, sparkling juice, and a joyful round of “Happy Birthday.”
Shirley’s Episcopal roots run deep. She was baptized at Christ Church, Delavan, and remained part of the parish until her marriage took her to Fort Atkinson, where she became active at St. Peter’s. Later, while living in Venice, Florida, she continued her faithful participation in the Episcopal Church there. After returning to Delavan in 2005, Shirley once again found her home at Christ Church.
Today, she remains an active and beloved member of the parish, especially through her involvement in the Backpack Food Program—continuing a lifelong witness of quiet service and steady faith.
Happy 99th birthday, Shirley. Your life is a blessing to your parish and to the wider Church.

💤Coziest Blanket Drive
📍 St. Dunstan’s, Madison
St. Dunstan’s Youth Lead Blanket Drive for St. Vincent de Paul
A couple of weekends ago, at the invitation of St. Dunstan’s youth group, the parish came together to participate in a Blanket Drive to support neighbors served by St. Vincent de Paul.
Parishioners responded with generosity, bringing forward blankets to offer warmth and comfort to others. Mother Bobbi also contributed additional donations, expanding the parish’s shared offering.
Before the blankets were sent on their way, the community gathered in prayer, asking God’s blessing on each item and on every person who would receive one.
It was a simple but powerful witness—youth inviting the Church into action, and the Church responding with open hands and faithful hearts.
