📍 Christ Church, Delevan

Palm Sunday at Christ Church, Delavan began not just inside the sanctuary, but out on the sidewalk—voices raised, palms in hand, and the story of Jesus’ entry into Jerusalem carried into the neighborhood. From the church sign to the front doors, parishioners of all ages walked together in a living procession, led by Deacon Bill Pelnar, with music, laughter, and that unmistakable mix of joy and reverence that marks the beginning of Holy Week.

Inside, the beauty continued as the altar was adorned and the story turned toward what lies ahead. Pictured here are Deacon Bill Pelnar, crucifer Barry Mullen, and Interim Rector Liz Meade, helping lead the community through this sacred threshold. It’s a reminder that faith is not just something we hold—it’s something we walk, together.

🏡 A Place to Belong

📍 Christ Church, Delavan

Canon Scott recently visited Beloved Community Parish in Stevens Point and found a community where welcome isn’t just spoken—it’s practiced, especially with its youngest members. Each Sunday, worship begins with a Children’s Message, where Mother Jane Johnson gathers the children for a moment of prayer, wonder, and reflection. From there, they move to a thoughtfully prepared space within the church—filled with art supplies, books, and quiet activities—where they can continue engaging in ways that meet them where they are. It’s not a separate experience so much as an extension of worship, shaped with care and intention.

What stood out most is how clearly these young parishioners know they belong. This is their church, and the adults around them reinforce that truth at every turn—with patience, encouragement, and joy. Beloved Community Parish lives into its name: taking stewardship, worship, inclusion, and service seriously, while also holding space for laughter, relationship, and a deep sense of home. It’s a place where faith is formed not just in words, but in the everyday practice of making room for one another.
