Jennifer McCombe Ordination to Priesthood

On June 28, Jennifer McCombe was ordained to the Sacred Order of Priests at All Saints’ Cathedral in Milwaukee. The celebration marked the culmination of years of study, discernment, and formation through the Nashotah House community, several of whom are pictured in the group photo.

While Jennifer previously served as a deacon—a ministry rooted in service, compassion, and connection—this ordination begins a new chapter in her vocation as a priest, called to preach, preside, and pastor in the name of Christ.

As Mother Jen awaits a call to full-time parish ministry, she will serve as an Assisting Priest at Zion Episcopal Church in Oconomowoc and offer support as a supply priest across the Diocese of Wisconsin.

At present, seven congregations in the diocese are in various stages of clergy transition. We give thanks for faithful leaders like Mother Jen who say “yes” to God’s call and help carry the church forward with grace and hope. Please keep our communities in prayer as they listen for the Spirit’s guidance in this season of discernment.

EpiscoWisco Middler Camp

Middler EpiscoWisco Camp was a whirlwind of giggles, God moments, and growing independence. These rising 7th–9th graders dove into lake swims, goofy games, and group challenges with big energy and even bigger hearts. From silly songs in the dining hall to thoughtful questions during evening devos, they showed us how wonder and faith go hand in hand. Campers navigated friendship, explored prayer, and learned what it means to belong and find your people—mosquito bites and all. (That said, we are not considering mosquitoes “Our People”. Whether they were conquering the climbing wall or cheering each other on at the talent show, this crew brought courage, kindness, and contagious joy. Middler Camp, you lit up the woods this week. Can’t wait to see how you shine next.

From Prayer to Presence: St. Bart’s & Holy Apostles Oneida

Each Sunday, St. Bart’s includes a prayer in the Prayers of the People that honors the Oneida people who brought the Episcopal Church to Wisconsin. Last Sunday, St. Bart’s member Jeff Watter brought that prayerful connection to life by visiting and worshiping in person with the Church of the Holy Apostles, the historic Oneida Episcopal congregation. Jeff leads St. Bart’s Media Team and is the creative force behind their excellent livestream ministry. His visit was a meaningful step in deepening the bonds between communities that are already joined in regular prayer. Also pictured is Richard Ackley, who serves the Episcopal Church at the local, diocesan, and national level, and is a Tribal Judge for the Bad River Band of Lake Superior Chippewa.

This moment is a beautiful reminder that the Body of Christ is built not only in prayer, but in presence.

Shelter From the Storm

Good Shepherd, Sun Prairie
With the help of a diocesan grant, Good Shepherd sponsors a room at Shelter From the Storm, a local family shelter. The team deep-cleans, paints, and fully outfits the space so a new family experiencing homelessness can move in with dignity. If the family completes the program, they take everything with them to their new apartment—starting the next chapter with stability and support.
