Celebrating Fr. Andy’s Ministry at St. Andrew’s, Madison
On Sunday, June 15, we gathered at St. Andrew's, Madison. It was the Sunday after the retirement of Fr. Andy Jones, who had been Rector there for the past 18 ½ years. During the service, I preached and led the first part of the Eucharist. After the Prayers of the People, members of the Vestry came forward, along with parish member the Rev. Dr. Lynne Carver. Lynne is a retired priest who has been a member of St. Andrew's for the past ten years. She regularly supplied when Andy was away. Lynne was commissioned as Associate Priest for Worship and Pastoral Care. The parish will now enter a time of reflection and prayer as they prepare to engage in a search process to call their next Rector.

The food is making us hungry.

Fellowship and food were abundant—proof that the Body of Christ shows up beautifully around a picnic table.

Driftless Regional Missioner Mother Monica Burkett Brist, Steve Brist, and Mother Kathleen Charles pause for a photo on the busy day.

Grillmaster Nick Charles manned the flames and brought the heat (and the hot dogs).
Serving with Sunshine: Trinity Oshkosh Joins Rock the Block
After two rain delays, the skies finally cleared on Monday, June 2, just in time for Trinity Episcopal Church’s ECW and parishioners to host a well-earned luncheon for the Habitat for Humanity Rock the Block crew in Southside Oshkosh’s historic 6th Ward.
With a spread of sub sandwiches, salads, and refreshing drinks, the team from Trinity fed nearly 40 hungry volunteers and staff—and served up plenty of smiles, too.
Sometimes ministry looks like sunshine, sandwiches, and showing up. Well done, Trinity!

Sharing the Table in Sun Prairie
A couple of snapshots from Sun Prarie’s monthly shared community dinner at Shelter From the Storm Ministry, Sun Prairie’s shelter for women and families experiencing homelessness. For nearly three years, folks from Good Shepherd Episcopal Church (GSEC) have been showing up with food and open hearts—sharing meals, stories, and laughter with the moms and kids at the shelter. This month’s crew included Fr. Mike, Sue Aiello, Archdeacon Bill and Buzz Hetzer. It’s simple work. Holy work. And always a joy.
Honoring Deacon Carol Smith’s Faithful Service
As we recently announced Deacon Carol Smith’s retirement, we’re glad to share this photo from her final Sunday in active ministry. On June 8th, members of Grace Church, Madison gathered to celebrate Carol’s long and faithful service. The joyful Feast of Pentecost and Holy Eucharist was followed by a reception in her honor. We give thanks for Carol’s many years of diaconal ministry and pray blessings on this next chapter! Photo submitted by Kristen Wold.
Lakeshore Mission Clergy Gathering with Special Guests from Kenya
On June 5th, clergy from the Lakeshore Mission Area gathered at All Saints’ Cathedral in Milwaukee for a time of fellowship and connection. We were honored to welcome Archbishop Jackson Ole Sapit of Kenya and the Rev. Martin Olando as special guests. Their presence brought global perspective and deepened our shared sense of mission across the Anglican Communion. It was a powerful reminder that the Church is both local and worldwide—rooted in place, connected in Spirit.

Bishop Gunter Visits Saint John’s On The Lake
On Wednesday, June 5, during his week in residence, Bishop Matthew Gunter visited Saint John’s On The Lake in Milwaukee.
He presided at the morning Eucharist and joined residents and community members for a joyful reception afterward. We’re grateful for the warm hospitality of Saint John’s and for the opportunity to share in worship, connection, and conversation during Bishop Gunter’s time there.
You can learn more about the Week in Residence program in the piece the Episcopal Church wrote here.
First Regional Gathering saw 70+ Attendees in Lakeshore Region
More than 60 clergy and lay leaders from across the Lakeshore Region came together at Trinity Church, Wauwatosa, for a powerful day focused on discipleship. From the opening prayer to the final blessing, the gathering centered on how we grow in faith—not just as individuals, but as communities walking together in Christ.
Workshops and conversations explored practices for deepening spiritual life, forming faith across generations, and equipping everyday disciples to live out the Gospel in their homes, workplaces, and neighborhoods. Whether sharing personal stories or wrestling with big questions, participants left with renewed energy and concrete tools for nurturing discipleship in their own congregations. Thank you Trinity Wauwatosa for hosting us!
Outdoor Evensong at St. Matthias, Minocqua
St. Matthias in Minocqua kicked off their first Outdoor Evensong of the season with a peaceful and spirit-filled evening under the open sky. Chairs were scattered across the churchyard, creating a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere for prayer, song, and connection. It was one of those gatherings where the photos couldn’t quite capture it all—but trust us, the presence was beautiful. Photos submitted by The Rev. Deborah Woolsey.
