Christ Church Cathedral Announces Return of Healing Eucharist Service
Eau Claire, WI – Christ Church Cathedral is pleased to announce the return of a cherished tradition: the Healing Eucharist. This special service will be offered on Wednesday, October 29, at 5:30 p.m. in the Cathedral Chapel.
The Healing Eucharist is a form of the Mass celebrated with particular intention for those who are sick in body, mind, or spirit. During the liturgy, worshippers are invited to come forward for anointing and prayer.
“The Healing Eucharist is a powerful reminder of the Church’s tradition—a faithful invocation of the Holy Spirit, a source of strength in suffering, and a sign of God’s mercy moving in the world,” said The Very Rev. Br. Tyler C. Richards, OCS, Dean of Christ Church Cathedral.
Dean Richards, who has celebrated this liturgy with congregations throughout his nearly ten years of ordained ministry, emphasized that the service is not about testing the measure of one’s faith. “Unlike some approaches to ‘faith healing,’ the Healing Eucharist does not suggest illness is the result of inadequate belief or sin. Rather, it entrusts us to God’s mercy, offering strength, comfort, and hope for the journey,” he said.
This special service will accommodate the Cathedral Choir’s rehearsal schedule, ensuring singers may also participate fully.
The community is warmly invited to attend and experience a time of prayer, blessing, and healing.
