Take Up The Cross Walk

You’re Invited: Take Up the Cross
A Public Witness of Faith and Conscience
Saturday, August 2, 2025 | 11:00 a.m. | Madison, WI

Join Christians from many denominations for a peaceful and powerful procession through downtown Madison, carrying a large wooden cross to the Wisconsin State Capitol.

In a time of political cruelty and spiritual distortion, we take up the cross as a public act of discipleship—standing with the vulnerable, lifting up truth, and calling out injustice.

This witness is grounded in Jesus’ words:
“Whoever does not take up their cross and follow me is not worthy of me.” —Matthew 10:38

Together, we will walk in solidarity, naming:

  • The misuse of faith for political gain

  • Harmful policies that target the vulnerable

  • Environmental neglect

  • The militarization of national priorities

All people of faith and conscience are welcome. Clergy and lay leaders from Episcopal, Lutheran, Roman Catholic, and United Methodist traditions will lead the event.

Meet at 11:00 a.m. at State & Lake Streets.
The procession will end at the Wisconsin State Capitol.

Come walk with us. Bear witness. Take up the cross.
